Canteen is currently hiring full-time and part-time Baristas for The Wire Cafe in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role emphasizes crafting and serving a variety of coffee and espresso drinks alongside related food items, adhering to food safety guidelines, and providing top-notch customer service. Baristas are responsible for preparing espresso orders using standard recipes, managing sales transactions accurately through a POS system, and maintaining supply and cleanliness standards in the service area. The position requires attentiveness to presentation, portion control, proper serving temperatures, and sanitation protocols, ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines. Interactions with customers and coworkers are to be friendly and courteous, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
The work schedule offers flexibility with varying hours Monday through Thursday, accommodating both full-time and part-time employment types. Remuneration ranges between $17.00 and $20.00 per hour, reflecting experience and skill level. Canteen encourages internal employee referrals through bonus incentives. Working at Canteen offers an opportunity to grow professionally within a supportive team setting prized for innovation and employee satisfaction.
Qualified candidates often possess prior barista and line cook experience, though the company welcomes enthusiastic individuals ready to embrace customer-centric service values. The role promotes not only the technical craft of beverage preparation but also the importance of effective communication, product knowledge, and upselling techniques to enhance customer experiences. Additionally, baristas are expected to support merchandising efforts to ensure appealing food displays and maintain the neatness of serving areas. Through these multi-faceted responsibilities, the Barista position serves as a vital link between Canteen’s commitment to quality and the workplace community it serves.
Canteen deeply values its employees’ well-being and offers comprehensive benefits for both part-time and full-time associates. Benefits include retirement plans, access to health and wellness programs, shopping discounts, voluntary insurance options, pet insurance, and legal services. Paid and unpaid time off policies are available in line with federal, state, and local laws. This commitment to a supportive work environment exemplifies Canteen’s philosophy to not only provide excellent food and service but also to foster meaningful careers and personal growth.
