We are currently seeking to hire a full-time Barista at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas. This position operates Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 3:00 pm, offering a predictable schedule and the opportunity to serve a significant community in a respected healthcare setting. The hourly pay is competitive, ranging from $15.00 to $15.50, based on experience. As part of this role, you will be responsible for crafting and serving coffee and espresso drinks to patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and satisfying customer experience. This position requires adherence to strict food safety standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines, emphasizing the quality of food and beverage preparation.
This role is instrumental in creating a warm and inviting environment by handling various aspects, including cash and charge payments, replenishing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and accurately entering orders into the POS system. Your ability to communicate effectively and courteously with customers and coworkers will be key to ensuring smooth service operations. Additionally, your role will support catering functions by preparing espresso orders and adhering to proper food presentation and portion control.

Job Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of previous barista experience required
- ability to work full time Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 3:00 pm

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 3 years of previous barista experience required

Job Duties
- Makes and serves coffee and espresso drinks and related food and beverage items
- handles food according to HACCP guidelines and standards for quality food-service operations
- interacts with customers and other employees in a friendly, courteous manner
- prepares espresso orders using standard measures and recipes
- enters orders accurately into POS device and accepts cash and charge payments
- replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
- ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- maintains sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies and utensils
- cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- greets customers courteously and ensures customer satisfaction
- serves customers quickly and efficiently
- demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and explains them accurately to customers
- serves as an advocate of selling techniques by establishing good communication and assisting in buying decisions
- ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
- performs other duties as assigned
