The Full-Time Barista/Counterperson position at Hilton Waikiki Beach is based in the M.A.C. To-Go outlet, a vibrant coffee bar catering to both hotel guests and walk-in customers. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about coffee culture and enjoy interacting with people first thing in the morning. The position involves preparing a wide range of coffee beverages, serving food and beverage items efficiently, handling cash transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area. The Barista/Counterperson must be adept at operating coffee machines, including espresso makers and coffee brewers, and familiar with food safety and sanitation standards set by the Hawaii State Department of Health.
In addition to beverage preparation, the role includes responsibilities such as managing inventory, keeping attractive food displays, operating kitchen equipment like the turbo chef and microwave, and delivering exceptional customer service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience as a barista or in food and beverage service preferred
- familiarity with coffee makers and kitchen equipment
- ability to handle cash and process transactions securely
- knowledge of health and safety regulations
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- availability for full-time flexible scheduling
- ability to work early morning shifts
- physically able to stand for long periods and perform cleaning tasks
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Operate coffee machines proficiently

- maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and counter area
- restock inventory and manage product levels
- operate kitchen equipment such as turbo chef and microwave properly
- ensure compliance with health and sanitation guidelines
- provide exceptional customer service and attend to guest needs promptly
- train new barista team members
