Job Description

Flik Independent School Dining (FISD) is a prominent foodservice provider specializing in private and independent schools, with a legacy spanning more than four decades serving over 300 communities. The role available is a full-time Barista position located at Savannah Christian Prep School in Savannah, GA. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $20.00, with a schedule typically Monday through Friday, although exact hours may vary and will be discussed during the interview process. The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee and espresso drinks as well as related food and beverage items, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer service. This role requires someone who is energetic, friendly, and customer-oriented, with experience preferred in both coffee shop settings and customer service.

As a Barista with FISD, you will engage directly with customers, taking and entering orders accurately into the POS device, handling cash and charge payments responsibly, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the service area. Preparation must comply with HACCP guidelines and food safety standards. The candidate needs to uphold presentation and portion control standards to ensure all food and beverage items are served attractively and at the proper temperature. Additionally, the role involves restocking supplies, maintaining equipment, and guaranteeing an efficient and pleasant customer experience.

Beyond daily duties, the Barista will act as a brand ambassador, educating customers on menu items and advocating selling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and sales. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in a coffee shop and customer service preferred
  • ability to work a full-time schedule Monday through Friday with varying hours
  • must be able to follow HACCP guidelines for food safety
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to operate POS systems
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • eligibility to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes

  • greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
  • relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
  • serves customers quickly and efficiently
  • prevents delays in serving lines
  • demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
  • serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process
  • ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
  • serves food neatly and attractively per standard
  • performs other duties as assigned
