The Barista position at Compass Group offers an exciting opportunity to join Restaurant Associates, a leading provider of dining and event catering for some of the nation’s most prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporations. Based at the JP Morgan Chase location in Wilmington, DE, this role involves preparing and serving high-quality coffee and espresso beverages along with food and related items. The position is available for both full and part-time shifts, Monday through Thursday, providing flexibility to accommodate different schedules. The pay rate for this role is competitive at $15.50 per hour.
As a Barista, you will play a key role in ensuring an outstanding customer experience by delivering beverages that meet quality and presentation standards. Your responsibilities include preparing espresso orders using standardized recipes and measurements, correctly processing transactions via POS systems, and maintaining cleanliness and inventory in the service area. Upholding food safety protocols in line with HACCP guidelines is critical, as is effectively interacting with customers to provide courteous and prompt service. This role also requires a strong attention to detail to ensure each item is served at the proper temperature and portion size, along with assisting in merchandising display foods attractively.

Job Duties
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
- enter orders accurately into POS device
- accept cash and charge payments
- replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
- ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- follow HACCP standards
- maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
- ensure proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
- keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
- greet customers courteously and interact in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
- relay relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
- serve customers quickly and efficiently, prevent delays in serving lines
- demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to customers
- serve as advocate of selling techniques by establishing good communication and assisting in buying decision-making process
- ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
- serve food neatly and attractively per standard
- perform other duties as assigned
