As a Barista Clerk and Cross-Functional Representative, your responsibilities will span from delivering outstanding customer care to assisting with product presentation and ensuring smooth operational processes. You will support various departments such as bakery, floral, deli, dairy, fresh produce, seafood, beauty, and general merchandise, providing a hands-on role that encourages growth, ownership, and the development of cross-departmental skills.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining inventory accuracy, creating visually appealing product displays, and adhering to strict cleanliness and safety protocols. You will utilize upselling techniques to contribute to department revenue and work collaboratively with your team to meet store and departmental goals. This job demands flexibility and adaptability, with schedules that change according to departmental and overall store needs. Job Requirements

  • minimum age 18
  • completion of high school or equivalent qualification
  • physical capability to lift weights over 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to work in varying temperature environments

Job Qualifications

  • completion of company orientation program and safety training
  • proficient in customer service and relationship management
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to manage tasks independently and coordinate multiple projects across departments
  • familiarity with Symbol scanners, ACR, and label machines is beneficial
  • previous experience in H-E-B store operations for six months or more is preferred

Job Duties

  • deliver excellent customer care by responding to queries
  • assist with product choices using upselling techniques
  • work across bakery, floral, deli, dairy, fresh produce, seafood, beauty, and general merchandise departments
  • restock, rotate inventory, replenish merchandise, package items, label and price products, set up displays
  • create and maintain visually appealing presentations
  • ensure inventory accuracy through proper receiving and organization
  • safely operate equipment and follow sanitation protocols
  • adhere to store and department SOPs, policies, and food safety regulations
  • support checking duties and assist with cross-functional responsibilities
  • adapt to flexible schedules to meet departmental and store needs
