Job Description
Spruce Peak is a premier mountain community nestled in the heart of Vermont, offering breathtaking views and access to the stunning Green Mountains. Located slopeside at the renowned Stowe Resort, Spruce Peak creates an exceptional environment that blends outdoor adventure with year-round relaxation. Whether guests are seeking thrilling ski experiences during the winter or lush mountain biking trails in the summer, Spruce Peak offers a unique destination for vacations, escapes, destination weddings, and more. The Lodge and Club serve as the vibrant hub of activity in this welcoming community, providing guests with luxurious amenities and unforgettable experiences.
As part of the Hyatt family, Spruce Peak embodies the values of hospitality and exceptional guest service. Hyatt’s extensive network and career development opportunities open doors for associates who want to grow professionally while working in engaging and beautiful settings. Spruce Peak is not just a workplace but a community that fosters teamwork, high standards, and a commitment to creating meaningful experiences for guests from all around the world. Employees enjoy a vibrant social and cultural landscape, including access to world-class breweries, small farms, and unparalleled outdoor recreation.
The Barista/Cashier role at Spruce Peak is an exciting entry point into the hospitality industry, designed for those who enjoy engaging with people and providing top-tier customer service. As a Barista, you will be the first point of contact for many guests, creating warm and welcoming interactions that enhance their overall experience. Your responsibilities will include greeting guests, preparing a variety of coffee beverages using professional techniques, managing the cash register, and taking food orders. While previous barista experience is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement as comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn new skills in a friendly and supportive environment.
The position offers a competitive pay rate of $17.50 per hour plus the potential for tips. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance after 30 days, and exciting perks such as a winter ski pass to Stowe Mountain Resort and a summer golf membership at Stowe Country Club. Additional advantages include complimentary and discounted stays at Hyatt hotels worldwide, onsite fitness memberships, employee discounts at spa and restaurant outlets, and 401(k) matching. The schedule requires flexibility to accommodate morning shifts, weekends, and holiday work, making it ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic roles with varied hours.
Spruce Peak values friendly, people-oriented team members who are effective communicators both with guests and fellow colleagues. The community-oriented nature of the job means you will play a vital role in crafting experiences that go beyond the expected, fostering lasting impressions and relationships. The physical location in Stowe offers a high quality of life with ample recreational opportunities year-round, making it a wonderful place to build a career while enjoying an active and enriching lifestyle. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and either possess or be willing to obtain their Retail Dealer License Certification (DLC) before their first day.
Overall, this position is perfect for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to grow their career in a beautiful mountain setting. Spruce Peak and Hyatt welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and encourage those who may not fit every criterion to apply, valuing unique experiences as part of their inclusive culture. Join the team to become part of a distinctive community with abundant natural beauty, rewarding work, and excellent professional development opportunities.
