Job Description

Verve Coffee Roasters is a premier coffee company dedicated to delivering an exceptional coffee experience from seed to cup. Founded with a passion for coffee craftsmanship, Verve Coffee Roasters has built a reputation for quality, sustainability, and community engagement. This company operates as a specialty coffee roaster and retailer, focusing on sourcing the finest coffee beans directly from farms and ensuring that every stage of the coffee journey reflects the utmost care and expertise. Verve is known for its commitment to bridging the gap between the origins of coffee farming and the everyday coffee drinker on the street level, creating an authentic connection through quality and ethical practices. Their cafes are vibrant spaces where customers can enjoy expertly crafted beverages while experiencing a welcoming atmosphere.

The Barista position at Verve Coffee Roasters is a non-exempt role reporting directly to the Café Manager. This job is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service and who have a strong desire to deepen their knowledge about coffee. Baristas at Verve play a critical role in creating memorable customer experiences by serving quality beverages, fostering a positive environment, and embodying the Verve brand with enthusiasm and respect. The role involves multitasking in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a clean and inviting café, and contributing to the team’s overall success. Baristas are also expected to communicate product information effectively, assist with training new team members, and adhere to company policies and protocols.

Verve Coffee Roasters values employees who are passionate, energetic, and committed to learning. The company offers flexible scheduling options including part-time and full-time positions, with hours that may include weekends and holidays to meet business needs. The physical demands of the Barista role are considerable: employees must be able to stand for extended periods, perform various movements such as bending and lifting up to 50 pounds, and maintain high levels of focus and dexterity throughout their shifts. This role offers more than just a job – it offers a chance to be part of a forward-thinking, inclusive, and supportive work culture that prioritizes employee growth and wellbeing.

Compensation for this position includes a competitive hourly wage, and benefits become available after 60 days of employment for those working full-time. Verve provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare options such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, alongside a 401(k) plan to support employees' financial futures. Employees also enjoy paid sick time and holiday pay after 90 days, with eight observed holidays each year. Additional perks include an Employee Assistance Program offering physical and mental health support, free coffee with every paycheck, a significant employee discount on merchandise and food items, and opportunities for continuing education in coffee making. Verve’s supportive and positive work environment is enhanced by mentorship programs that encourage ongoing development. The company embraces diversity and inclusion as core values, fostering an accessible and respectful workplace where all team members can thrive. Individuals passionate about coffee and customer service will find a rewarding career path at Verve Coffee Roasters.
