Job Description
Pacific Hospitality Group is a distinguished hospitality company recognized for its owner/operator approach that emphasizes long-term holdings and sustainable business growth. Family-focused and founded on principles that honor integrity, compliance, value creation, and community engagement, Pacific Hospitality Group dedicates itself to enriching people's lives through memorable experiences. The company is committed to giving back to communities and honoring God in all aspects of its operations, aiming for principled entrepreneurship and fulfillment for both guests and team members. With a focus on sustainable growth and providing value to investors, the group operates across different hospitality sectors with a mission to create positive impacts both within its company and in the communities it serves.
Pacific Hospitality Group is currently seeking a Lead Barista to oversee the daily operations of their coffee bar. This role is essential to maintaining exceptional customer service, upholding high-quality beverage standards, and ensuring an organized and efficient working environment. As a team leader, the Lead Barista mentors other baristas, maintains product quality, and helps management by supporting daily operations. This role offers an engaging opportunity for candidates who are passionate about coffee culture, customer experience, and team leadership within a hospitality environment.
The Lead Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other menu items following company recipes and quality standards. Exceptional customer interaction skills are necessary, as the Lead Barista greets guests, answers questions, and professionally resolves any concerns to enhance the guest experience. This position involves assigning tasks to baristas, ensuring smooth workflows during shifts, and providing continual guidance and training for new team members. Inventory management is also a key aspect, with responsibilities including monitoring stock levels, restocking supplies, and communicating purchasing needs to management.
In addition to operational duties, the Lead Barista ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of the café area, equipment, and workstations, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations. Opening and closing tasks include cash handling, register reconciliation, and implementing security protocols. This role requires maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other essential café equipment with prompt reporting of any maintenance needs. Promoting menu items through suggestive selling and assisting with scheduling and performance feedback are further components designed to foster a positive and productive team culture.
Ideal candidates for this role will have 1 to 3 years of barista experience with previous leadership or supervisory roles preferred. They must demonstrate a strong knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee brewing techniques, and beverage presentation, alongside excellent communication and customer service skills. The ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment, paired with strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, is essential. Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required to meet the demands of the business.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds, and perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, and operating café equipment. The role also involves working in exposure to hot surfaces and beverages, reinforcing the need for attentiveness and safety.
Joining Pacific Hospitality Group as a Lead Barista means becoming part of a team dedicated to not only delivering exceptional hospitality but also contributing to sustainable success and a fulfilling work environment. This opportunity marries customer-centric service with operational leadership in a setting that values respect, humility, and continuous growth.
