The Barista / Bartender role at HomeGrown is a vital dual-position demanding expertise in both coffee artistry and cocktail mixing. This position requires versatility and an enthusiastic approach to deliver high-quality coffee beverages and well-crafted alcoholic drinks. Candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment serving a diverse clientele from early mornings to brunch hours. The successful candidate will play a critical role in upholding HomeGrown’s warm, inviting atmosphere and excellent customer service standards. The role combines technical skills in beverage preparation with interpersonal skills oriented towards fostering an enjoyable guest experience.
As a Barista / Bartender, the individual will prepare a wide range of espresso and coffee drinks, maintain bar and juicing equipment, and manage product knowledge about local partners and menus. On the bartending side, this person will mix specialty coffee drinks along with cocktails, manage inventory and bar stock, handle cash and POS accurately, and ensure compliance with alcohol service laws. General duties also include greeting customers professionally, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and working cooperatively with the team.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 or more years of experience as Barista and/or Bartender preferred but training provided
- Ability to operate espresso machines and coffee preparation equipment
- Basic knowledge of cocktail recipes
- Physical ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 25 pounds
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Compliance with local and state alcohol service laws
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista and/or Bartender in a high-volume setting
- Proficiency in operating commercial espresso equipment
- Knowledge of classic brunch cocktail recipes
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability to work early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Skillfully prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold coffee and espresso beverages adhering to recipes and quality standards
- Operate and maintain espresso machine and juicing equipment ensuring cleanliness and functionality
- Maintain knowledge of local partners and menu items to answer customer questions and make recommendations
- Prepare and serve HomeGrown specialty barista drinks and cocktails following recipes and responsible alcohol service
- Monitor and replenish bar stock including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware
- Accurately process customer orders and payments using POS and reconcile till at shift end
- Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders, resolve guest issues, maintain cleanliness of work areas, and collaborate with team members on opening and closing procedures
