Join our team as a Barista, where you play a pivotal role in delivering these experiences. As a Barista at Methodical, you will be the face of our brand, engaging with customers and preparing our cafe offerings with care and precision. This role is about much more than simply making coffee; it is about creating meaningful interactions through the mastery of coffee and tea preparation. You will develop a deep understanding and knowledge of every offering, including coffee origins, brewing methods, and food pairings. Your ability to execute every beverage to our high standards—following recipes and procedures—is essential to maintaining the integrity of our brand.

In addition to technical skills, exceptional customer service is at the heart of the Barista role. You will greet and welcome guests warmly, educate them on our diverse offerings, and attentively meet their needs to ensure every visit is memorable. Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting environment is critical, as you will help keep workstations, seating areas, and supply shelves in pristine condition. Team collaboration is key, and you will assist with prep work, dishwashing, and stocking, contributing to the smooth operation of the entire café.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or customer-facing role preferred
  • Passion for coffee and hospitality
  • Ability to handle fast-paced work environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in coffee preparation or customer service preferred
  • Strong knowledge or willingness to learn about coffee and tea
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and procedures
  • Customer service experience is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of coffee brewing equipment is desirable

Job Duties

  • Develop a deep understanding and breadth of knowledge of all our offerings including coffee, food, and other products
  • Develop an understanding of coffee regions, processes, and brew types
  • Execute all beverage offerings to our standard of quality
  • Follow all recipes and procedures precisely
  • Dial in coffee on brew bar and espresso
  • Greet, welcome, and provide exceptional service to every customer
  • Educate customers on our offerings and coffee in general
  • Attend to customer needs eagerly
  • Keep stations and seating areas clean and organized
  • Assist with prep, dishwashing, and stocking shelves
  • Develop necessary skills to perform tasks
  • Communicate effectively with teammates, leadership, and customers
  • Uphold company culture and contribute to a team-oriented environment
  • Follow all required processes and procedures
