The Barista position is a non-exempt role reporting to the Concept Manager. This role is specifically designed for candidates who are enthusiastic about delivering excellent guest service and skilled in fast food operations. The Barista plays a central role in the daily operations of the food and beverage establishment, engaging directly with customers to take orders, prepare food, and manage transactions efficiently. This position is eligible to receive tips, which can be a supplementary income on top of the base pay. The role involves various responsibilities, such as greeting customers with a warm, welcoming attitude, encouraging upselling of menu items, and ensuring all food preparation processes are handled with precision and hygiene.

As part of the duties, the Barista is expected to operate the cash register, manage cash and credit card payments accurately, and follow the company’s policies for guest experience and cash handling. They also maintain cleanliness in their work area, stock products, and assist with kitchen-related activities like food preparation, assembly, and baking. The position requires a commitment to the CORE model of service, which emphasizes eye contact, smiling, enthusiastic communication, and maintaining a connection with guests.

Physically, this job demands standing for long periods, as well as regular use of hands and arms for food preparation and operating equipment. The ideal candidate should have the stamina to handle the physical requirements, including lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds and multitasking in a busy environment.
