Job Description
This vibrant Miami coffee establishment is a neighborhood-centric all-day cafe and wine bar located at the corner of Tigertail and Mary in Coconut Grove. It prides itself on embracing and enhancing the Miami coffee scene, with strong partnerships such as the one with Counter Culture, an esteemed coffee program leadership team. The cafe provides a bright and beautiful space featuring a classic chromed Marzocco Linea espresso machine, positioning itself as a local hub for authentic, conscientious, and high-quality coffee experiences. The founders acknowledge Miami's diverse coffee culture and aim to elevate it by moving away from overpriced and oversweetened offerings toward a more genuine coffee experience. They value simplicity, authenticity, professionalism, and inclusiveness, emphasizing a safe and open environment for people of all backgrounds and beliefs. The atmosphere balances seriousness about coffee quality with a light-hearted, drama-free culture within their small and tight-knit team.
The role available is for baristas and apprentice baristas who will be fundamental in delivering the best possible experience for guests. This is a customer-facing position where every interaction contributes to guest happiness, requiring staff to be authentic, kind, and professional. The cafe seeks individuals with a range of experience levels, from seasoned baristas to ambitious beginners eager to learn not only about coffee but also wine and small business operations. The pay averages between $22 to $24 per hour, inclusive of tips, and emphasizes shared participation in tip pooling, fostering a supportive and equitable team environment. Responsibilities include not only preparing and serving quality coffee but also maintaining cleanliness and creating a welcoming ambiance for all patrons. The establishment values low-key personalities without drama, pride in craftsmanship, kindness, and a willingness to engage deeply with its cultural and community mission. Overall, this role offers an opportunity to be part of a unique coffee and wine bar contributing meaningfully to the vibrant Coconut Grove neighborhood, with a focus on connection, nourishment, and community integration at its core.
