Job Description
SodexoMagic is a distinguished joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson and SodexoMagic, Inc. Together, they provide an impressive range of services encompassing food, facilities management, and integrated services. Serving a diverse clientele that includes corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, as well as aviation lounges, SodexoMagic stands out as a certified minority company that emphasizes creativity, community involvement, and service excellence. Their strategic alliance allows them to offer innovative solutions tailored to meet client needs while fostering strong, local partnerships throughout the communities they serve.
SodexoMagic prides itself on its inclusive and supportive workplace culture where employees are valued, respected, and encouraged to be authentic. The organization places high importance on diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating an environment where every individual can thrive and contribute unique perspectives. This commitment extends to providing equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender identity, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Employees find that their opinions matter, and they have opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.
The Barista position at SodexoMagic offers a full-time employment opportunity based in Merck - Upper Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, specifically in North Wales. With flexible and varying shifts, employees are expected to exhibit open availability to accommodate operational needs. The hourly pay range is competitive, from $7.25 to $21.30 per hour, a reflection of experience, skill level, and specific account requirements. This role is more than just making coffee; it encompasses delivering memorable customer experiences while crafting quality, hand-made beverages.
As a Barista, you will be the face of SodexoMagic’s beverage service, greeting guests with warmth and professionalism while preparing a vast array of drinks including espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blend beverages. Your role requires attention to detail to ensure every drink meets customer specifications and is delivered promptly. You will maintain well-stocked and visually appealing coffee bars or carts, keeping supplies and utensils arranged to attractively present offerings. Cleanliness and upkeep of coffee machines, preparation areas, and surrounding restaurant spaces are essential components of daily responsibilities, reflecting the company's commitment to food safety and sanitation.
Cash handling, sales recording, and operating registers are also part of your duties, requiring accuracy and adherence to procedures. The physical demands of the job involve significant mobility, including walking, standing for long periods (often over eight hours), and the ability to lift and move supplies up to 50 pounds. Dependability is crucial as you will need to attend scheduled shifts punctually and consistently.
SodexoMagic encourages continuous learning and growth. Baristas may have access to ongoing training and development opportunities to build a career path within the company. Some roles, especially at Starbucks-affiliated locations, might require certification, further enhancing your professional credentials. Beyond the core job functions, the company offers comprehensive benefits designed to support your well-being and work-life balance, including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, and employee discount programs. Some sites provide additional perks such as free shift meals or allowances, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation support.
Joining SodexoMagic as a Barista means becoming part of a dynamic, purpose-driven team where your work contributes meaningfully to the customer experience, your personal development, and the broader community. This role offers robust support, inclusive culture, and the chance to thrive in a rewarding environment dedicated to growth and excellence.
