This opportunity is for a Barista position at Salish Lodge & Spa, focusing on delivering high-quality coffee and beverage services while ensuring customer satisfaction. The role centers around preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages according to established company standards. The Barista will play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, while supporting the smooth operations of the café or coffee bar area. This position offers an hourly pay rate of $19, eligibility for tips and tip pooling, and the possibility to get paid daily, providing financial flexibility. It is a dynamic, hands-on role perfectly suited for those passionate about the art of coffee-making and eager to engage with guests with professionalism and warmth.
Baristas at Salish Lodge & Spa are expected to operate various equipment including coffee and espresso machines, grinders, and blenders safely and efficiently. They will maintain organized beverage stations and counters, accurately handle payment transactions, manage inventory, and communicate supply needs effectively to management. In addition to beverage preparation and customer interaction, the Barista may assist with training new team members and offering support during busy periods. This role demands a balance of technical skill, customer service excellence, and team collaboration, thriving in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.

Job Requirements
- Prior café, coffee, or food & beverage experience required
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems for order taking and cash handling
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Qualifications
- Prior café, coffee, or food & beverage experience required
- Barista certification or completion of formal coffee/espresso training preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members
- Knowledge of coffee preparation, brewing techniques, and beverage presentation is a plus
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems for order taking and cash handling
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages according to company standards
- Greet guests warmly, take orders, and provide product recommendations
- Operate coffee and espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including beverage stations, counters, and dining areas
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payment transactions accurately
- Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management
- Restock coffee bar and serving stations with necessary amenities (lids, straws, napkins, etc.)
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- May assist with training new team members and supporting co-workers during peak periods
- Address guest questions, concerns, or special requests promptly and professionally
- Other tasks as assigned
