This part-time Barista position is based at Northampton Community College and offers a competitive pay rate of $15 per hour. The shifts are primarily on weekdays during morning and afternoon or evening hours, with more specifics provided during the interview process. As a Barista with Sodexo, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality beverages and exceptional customer service to patrons at the college. Your responsibilities will include crafting hand-made coffee and other drinks such as espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blend drinks, while accommodating customer preferences and specifications. Beyond beverage preparation, this role involves greeting guests warmly, maintaining efficient service, setting up attractive coffee bar displays, and ensuring cleanliness and upkeep of equipment and work areas.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly communicative, and possess strong attention to detail. Physical stamina is required for this role as it involves standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, and maintaining a presence on the floor during shifts that may exceed eight hours. Customer interaction is a priority, and you will be expected to foster positive relationships by educating customers on menu offerings, suggesting additional products, and efficiently handling transactions including sales recording and cash register operation.
