The franchise location in Harahan, LA, situated at 5359 Mounes Street, is currently looking for a passionate and dedicated barista to join their afternoon team. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, providing flexibility to candidates who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The hourly pay starts at $7.25, with the position being tipped and including paid training.
The role of the barista at PJ's Coffee is both rewarding and multifaceted. It requires preparing a variety of hot and cold coffee drinks in accordance with customer preferences, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the workspace, and operating coffee brewing and espresso machines efficiently. Baristas also handle cash transactions using the point-of-sales (POS) system and play a crucial role in customer engagement by providing strong service with a friendly demeanor. The position also involves some food preparation, including sandwiches and pastries, ensuring that customers receive a holistic and enjoyable café experience.
Ideal candidates for this role will be self-driven, punctual, and hardworking. While previous barista experience is preferred, PJ's Coffee welcomes beginners and is willing to provide comprehensive training to the right individual. Key qualities include effective communication skills, excellent time management to juggle multiple tasks, and the physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Working the afternoon shift from 12 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Sunday, team members can benefit from a flexible schedule designed to fit various lifestyles. - ability to stand for long periods
- ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to work flexible hours including afternoons and weekends
