This full-time position is based in Winston Salem, North Carolina, under the 11111 Non Enterprise Corporate - Starbucks department. The role offers a competitive pay range of $18.85 to $28.30 per hour and is benefits eligible from day one, including health insurance options that are either copay or HSA-eligible. The schedule includes working 32 hours per week, from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm, inclusive of every other weekend and rotating holidays. Employees benefit from generous paid time off, starting at 25 days per year, covering vacations, sick leave, holidays, and personal matters.
The role centers around providing exceptional customer service and beverage preparation as a Barista to Starbucks standards. The successful candidate will be tasked with preparing a variety of beverage orders, including espresso drinks and the coffee of the day, ensuring each order meets quality standards. Operational flow is maintained by following detailed policies and procedures for various stations, including food safety protocols and upkeep of a clean workplace. Additional responsibilities include inventory management, cash handling, and merchandise stocking according to standard procedures. The role demands professional presentation and the use of clear, courteous communication in all customer and partner interactions.
Applicants must have previous customer service experience and need to complete training to obtain Barista certification, scoring at least 90%. While prior Barista experience is considered a plus, it is not mandatory. Essential skills include consistent attendance, punctuality, the ability to follow instructions, proficiency in cash register operation, adaptability to departmental needs, and effective communication across various stakeholders including nursing staff, managers, and hospital team members.
Working conditions involve constant standing and walking, with occasional physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The environment requires frequent use of computer and bar equipment and demands good sensory abilities such as clarity of vision and flavor or odor discrimination. Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and coffee of the day to Starbucks standards
- Prepare all beverages to standard and hand out quality drinks every time
- Follow policies and procedures for operational flow at each station
- Follow established safety standards using safe food handling guidelines
- Maintain a clean work area and immediate surrounding area
- Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines
- Present oneself professionally and demonstrate clear communication by using Star Skills with all customer and partner interactions
