Job Description

Currently, Weis Markets is hiring for a Barista position at an in-store Starbucks location that is tentatively set to open in October 2026. Until the store’s opening, candidates will work within the store in various capacities, gaining valuable experience. The Barista role is designed for individuals who are passionate about coffee and customer service and want to be part of a dynamic team. This position requires dedication to delivering outstanding customer experiences, maintaining high-quality products, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the work environment, and supporting team members. The Barista will learn and practice the craft of coffee making while engaging with customers to provide personalized service. Their responsibilities also include operating cash registers, maintaining inventory, ensuring sanitation standards, and working collaboratively with the team to achieve store goals.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic math skills for cash register operation
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Willingness to learn and adapt

Job Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or food service experience beneficial

Job Duties

  • Creates personalized experiences for customers by demonstrating knowledge of coffee products and offers
  • Develops expertise in coffee craft and maintains equipment and store environment diligently
  • Contributes to team success and supports fellow baristas
  • Operates cash register and follows proper money handling procedures
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the department meeting health and OSHA standards
  • Assists with baling cardboard and management of deliveries when trained
  • Utilizes all company provided personal protective equipment (PPE)
