Operating in multiple sectors including food service, catering, and facilities management, Sodexo partners with numerous clients worldwide to provide integrated solutions that enhance experiences for customers and employees alike. With a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Sodexo fosters a supportive work culture where every individual is valued and respected. Employment opportunities at Sodexo are inclusive, ensuring equal treatment regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics. This approach not only builds a strong, diverse workforce but also drives the company's mission of improving the quality of life in the communities it serves.

The Barista position at Sodexo, located at Gonzaga University, offers full-time or part-time employment with competitive pay ranging from $18 to $21 per hour. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about customer service and creating high-quality handcrafted beverages in a fast-paced environment. Working at Sodexo as a Barista means going beyond just making coffee; it is about delivering exceptional customer experiences and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued.

The Barista is responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, caffe latte, tea, chai, and fruit blend drinks, tailored to customer preferences. This role requires attention to detail, speed, and efficiency to ensure customer orders are fulfilled promptly while maintaining quality standards. Beyond beverage preparation, the Barista will engage with guests to educate them about menu offerings and encourage suggestive selling, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Sodexo emphasizes the importance of maintaining cleanliness and order in the coffee bar or cart area, including the cleaning of equipment and the arrangement of supplies to create attractive displays. The position also involves cash handling responsibilities such as recording sales, collecting payments, and operating a cash register while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Physical demands of the job include the ability to stand or walk for long periods, frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds, and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, pushing, or pulling. Flexibility in shift availability is preferred to accommodate varying workdays and hours. Sodexo offers a supportive and flexible work environment designed to help employees balance work and life commitments, with ongoing training and advancement opportunities that turn a job into a career.

Overall, the Barista role at Sodexo offers more than employment; it provides a chance to be part of a company committed to social, economic, and environmental progress. Employees enjoy competitive pay and benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, and more. Additional site-specific benefits may also be available.
