This philosophy embraces the diverse talents of its team members and promotes collaboration to deliver outstanding experiences through its family of companies. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Arayen has established itself as a forward-thinking organization that values its people and fosters an inclusive work environment.
The Barista role at Arayen is a dynamic and rewarding position integral to maintaining the high standards of customer service the company is known for. The primary responsibility for this role is to accurately operate the Point of Sales (POS) system, efficiently processing transactions while ensuring customer satisfaction. Baristas are expected to actively engage with guests, using friendly approaches to offer services and promote product sales, including suggestive selling and upselling techniques to maximize guest experience and company revenue.
This role requires a strong understanding of the menu offerings, including the ability to describe products, their packaging, presentation, and pricing clearly to customers. Baristas are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in their service areas and adhering to safety and sanitation protocols. Maintaining an inventory control log, commonly referred to as the stand sheet, is a crucial part of this position to ensure all product supplies are accounted for and properly handled. Moreover, Baristas must follow cash handling and tip reporting procedures meticulously to ensure financial accuracy.
In addition to individual responsibilities, the Barista plays a supportive role by helping fellow team members complete tasks, contributing to a cooperative work environment. Thorough completion of all station setup and breakdown duties are also essential to preparing for service and closing down efficiently at the end of shifts.
Arayen places a strong emphasis on responsible service, including alcohol service policies, which Baristas must adhere to rigorously. Communication with management regarding any guest issues is important, ensuring that challenges are addressed promptly to maintain a positive guest experience.
This position requires physical stamina and agility as it involves standing for long periods, reaching, bending, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds. The ideal candidate should be alert and responsive in emergency situations and able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl when necessary. Being at least 18 years old and holding a valid Washington State Food Handlers Permit are mandatory requirements.
Arayen offers a competitive salary in the range of 22 to 25 USD per hour for this role, reflecting the value placed on skilled customer service professionals. Employees are also supported through a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to contribute their ideas in a collaborative environment. The company prides itself on diversity, equity, and inclusion, assuring equal employment opportunities for all qualified applicants regardless of various protected characteristics. This makes Arayen an excellent choice for candidates looking to advance their careers while being part of a respectful and engaging workplace culture.
