Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. With a presence in cities worldwide, Marriott continues to set the standard for quality and service in hotels and resorts. The Westin brand, part of the Marriott family, emphasizes wellness and guest well-being, encouraging associates and guests alike to prioritize health and balance in their lifestyles. This role is based at the Westin located on 13340 Dallas Parkway in Dallas, Texas, offering a full-time, non-management position dedicated to food and beverage service within a vibrant hospitality setting.
The position of Food and Beverage Team Member at the Westin Dallas Parkway plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting day-to-day food service operations. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities including preparing food and coffee beverages, handling customer orders using the MICROS point-of-sale system, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for opening and closing the food service area, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are set up and cleaned appropriately. This includes operating coffee makers and other appliances at the correct times to guarantee quality service.
Alongside the operational duties, this role requires a strong commitment to safety and security standards, adherence to company policies, and a professional appearance. The Food and Beverage Team Member also engages directly with guests, welcoming them according to company standards, anticipating their service needs, and providing genuine appreciation to enhance guest satisfaction. This includes assisting guests with disabilities and maintaining a respectful, positive team environment.
Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for the duration of the shift, as well as the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The role demands fine motor skills and the ability to work in confined spaces when necessary. Flexibility to perform additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors is also essential.
This position is ideally suited for individuals eager to start a career in hospitality who hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent, though no prior experience or supervisory background is required. Marriott and Westin’s commitment to diversity and inclusion ensures every associate can thrive in a supportive atmosphere that values different backgrounds and perspectives.
Working at the Westin within Marriott International does not just mean a job; it means joining a global community committed to wellness, growth, and excellence. Associates are encouraged to engage actively with the company’s wellness initiatives and to bring positive energy and enthusiasm to both their personal and professional lives. This role offers the chance to develop essential skills in a high-quality, fast-paced hospitality environment, with the ongoing support of a leading brand focused on the success of its people and guests alike.
