The Barista role at Aramark offers an exciting and dynamic work experience designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, social settings. As a barista, you will prepare specialty coffee drinks and teas, assist with food preparation, and manage customer transactions including handling cash and credit card payments through a point-of-sale system. Providing exceptional customer service is a key component of the job, as you greet customers, anticipate their needs, and ensure each visit results in a memorable experience.

This position demands a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines, and following company policies on cash handling. You will be responsible for setting up and breaking down stations, stocking supplies including beverage coolers and grab-and-go items, and supporting other duties as assigned by management. Physical movement such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, along with extended periods of walking and standing may be required in this role. The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently with limited supervision, follows company dress codes, possesses basic math and counting abilities, and is able to communicate effectively in English including following standardized recipes. Food handling certification may also be required to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • basic math and counting skills required

Job Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • previous cash handling experience preferred
  • previous experience as a barista preferred
  • basic math and counting skills required

  • complete food handling certification as required

Job Duties

  • Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions
  • greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
  • prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
  • prepare and serve food items in line with location standards
  • count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
  • adhere to Aramark's cash handling policies and procedures
  • set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
  • maintain clean and sanitary work area
  • stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
  • follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
  • other duties as assigned by management
