Operating in more than 80 countries, Sodexo offers a diverse range of integrated services including food service, facilities management, and catering solutions. The company partners with a variety of clients ranging from healthcare and education to corporate and government sectors, ensuring that their services are tailored to meet the specific needs of each location and customer base. Sodexo’s commitment to sustainability, inclusion, and community development underpins its operations, aiming to create positive social, economic, and environmental impacts where it works.
Located at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, this full-time Barista position offers an hourly wage of $18.00. The role involves working varying shifts with open availability preferred, providing candidates with potential flexibility. The Barista will be part of Sodexo’s dedicated team, delivering exceptional customer service in a healthcare environment, crafting and serving quality hot and cold beverages including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and specialty drinks like chai and fruit blends.
As a Barista at Sodexo, you will be the frontline face of the coffee bar with responsibilities that center around customer interaction, beverage preparation, and maintaining a clean and inviting service area. You will greet each guest warmly, take orders accurately, and prepare beverages to customer specifications while educating them about menu options and engaging in suggestive selling to enhance their experience. Maintaining efficient coffee bar operations involves the upkeep and cleaning of machines and workspaces, managing inventory of supplies, and ensuring that the display of coffee products is appealing.
This role requires physical stamina including the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, frequently lift moderate weights, and perform tasks involving bending, reaching, and pushing. Handling cash transactions accurately and adhering to Sodexo’s cash-handling policies is another key responsibility. The Barista position is more than just crafting beverages; it involves creating memorable experiences for patrons, which can include staff, students, patients, and visitors to the medical center.
Sodexo supports its employees by fostering an inclusive workplace culture where every individual is valued and respected. There is an emphasis on diversity and equal opportunity, and the company encourages applicants of all backgrounds to apply. Sodexo also offers continuous training opportunities to help employees grow their skills and advance their careers in a supportive environment. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holidays, tuition reimbursement programs, 401k plans, discounts, and potentially location-specific perks like free meals during shifts or uniform provisions.
Joining Sodexo as a Barista at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center means becoming part of an organization that cares about the health and wellbeing of its customers and workforce alike. You’ll be provided with the tools and training necessary to succeed in your role, while being part of a company that truly values its people and seeks to improve quality of life and promote sustainability.
