Joining Auberge du Soleil as a Barista means becoming part of a team committed to crafting exquisite moments through the art of coffee. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that every cup tells a story and every pour is a masterpiece, delighting guests with carefully prepared beverages. The barista position involves greeting guests in a courteous and prompt manner, accurately taking and inputting orders using the Point of Sale system, and ensuring all dietary restrictions and allergies are noted and communicated effectively. Preparation of beverages to precise specifications and serving guests with the proper utensils also form key parts of the job. Beyond beverage preparation, the role includes assisting with food orders, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work station, handling sales transactions, balancing financial reports, and performing various side duties such as restocking supplies and aiding food runners.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs
  • Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position

  • Ability to lift/carry 30 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Any combination of education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Minimum of one year experience as a barista preferred
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Superior professional appearance and manner, good character to work in a fast-paced team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs
  • Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position
  • Flexible in performance of all duties

Job Duties

  • Greet the guest in a prompt, courteous manner and explain available items in detail
  • Record the details of the order from the guest, repeating the order back to the guest to check for accuracy
  • Promptly and accurately input the order into the Point of Sale (POS) system to inform the kitchen/bar on the particulars of the orders being placed
  • Ensure all dietary restrictions and/or allergies are noted on the ticket and communicated with culinary
  • Prepare beverage orders to accuracy
  • Serve each guest using the proper utensils which require manual dexterity of hands and fingers
  • Assist with collecting and situating food orders from the kitchen
  • Ensure order forms are filled out daily for next day service and delivered to proper departments
  • Process cash, credit card, and charge sales for all retail and food and beverage orders
  • Balance tip slips for each server
  • run financial reports, cashier reports, and end of day revenue reports
  • Prepare the cashier end of shift reports and ensure that your bank is balanced
  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
  • Wipe and sanitize all work surfaces, door knobs, equipment, pens, etc periodically during your shift
  • Perform side duties such as restocking condiments, utensils, retail items, beverages, etc
  • Put away requisition/supplies from the storeroom as required
  • Assist with monthly inventory of retail items, liquor and beverages
  • Familiar with hotel layout and hours of operations for each outlet
  • Perform any cleaning tasks that pertain to the outlet
  • Assist food runners in running food from the kitchen to guests
