This retail unit is well-recognized in the community for its commitment to excellence and fostering a welcoming environment where every customer feels valued. The establishment prides itself on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace, ensuring that both customers and employees have a positive experience in the store. The Caring Cup operates on a full-time basis with rotating shifts that include weekday nights, weekend nights, and weekend day shifts, offering differential pay for those hours worked during these times. The promotional rates include 17% differential for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend day shifts. Compensation for this role is comprehensive and dependent on multiple factors including an individual’s experience, education, and overall contribution to the organization.

This position is focused on the delivery of exemplary customer service within the retail environment. The role involves operating the espresso machine skillfully to prepare beverages according to established standards. Additionally, the employee will manage the cash register transactions, handle cash drawer duties such as balancing and preparing reconciliation reports, and make necessary cash deposits. Adherence to hospital and departmental policies is a critical component of this role, ensuring compliance with healthcare and retail industry standards. This role does not include any direct patient care assignments.

The employee will take on various responsibilities such as maintaining the department’s facilities and equipment to promote comfort, safety, and efficiency for both customers and staff. Assisting in the training of volunteer staff is also part of this role, fostering a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on consistent service delivery. Interaction with customers is key, with the employee required to greet and acknowledge every customer, maintain knowledge of products, and uphold customer service standards. The role extends to merchandise management which includes processing and replenishing stock, monitoring floor inventory levels, and ensuring stock displays meet prescribed standards.

A significant element of the job involves loss prevention strategies, where the employee must comply with all departmental policies concerning pricing, signing, and other loss prevention practices. Accurate performance of sales transactions and maintaining proper cash accountability at point-of-sale registers are essential duties as well. The employee must communicate any customer requests to management and provide support for various floor duties such as line monitoring and merchandise sacking.

Effective communication skills will also be utilized in handling telephone inquiries and preparing routine daily reports relating to sales, inventory logs, credit card receipts, and bank deposits. Additional responsibilities include opening and closing the retail unit, creating displays as needed, and assisting with the care and maintenance of the department’s equipment and supplies. Coordination with co-workers to improve job efficiency is encouraged to cultivate a cooperative work environment.

Overall, this role offers a dynamic work environment within a healthcare facility’s retail unit, combining customer service, cash management, and operational duties.
