Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, dedicated to creating better everyday experiences for clients and employees alike. With a focus on improving the economic, social, and environmental well-being of the communities it serves, Sodexo offers comprehensive food service, catering, facilities management, and other integrated solutions worldwide. The organization’s core mission is to enhance the quality of life for everyone, embracing a culture of belonging, respect, and inclusivity. Employees at Sodexo thrive in an environment where their ideas are valued, and their unique identities are respected, making it a supportive place to grow both personally and professionally.
This specific opportunity is for a Barista position located at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The role is full-time, primarily morning shifts on varying days, with a pay rate of $19.50 per hour. As a Barista with Sodexo, you will be expected to provide outstanding customer service while expertly crafting a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, and specialty drinks like chai and fruit blends. The job involves greeting guests warmly, ensuring fast and personalized service, and maintaining a well-organized and attractive coffee bar environment.
The Barista role goes beyond beverage preparation; it involves educating guests on menu options, suggesting items to enhance customer experience, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the work area. A large part of the job requires physical stamina—walking, standing for extended durations, and lifting supplies up to 50 pounds occasionally. Sodexo values punctuality, reliability, and adherence to cash-handling protocols, expecting Baristas to record sales accurately and manage transactions responsibly.
Sodexo encourages growth and development through ongoing training and advancement opportunities, making this position a viable stepping stone for a career in hospitality or food service. The company also provides a flexible and supportive work environment that respects employees’ life needs and offers a robust benefits package. Key benefits include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, and various employee discount programs. Some locations may offer site-specific perks such as free shift meals, uniform provisions, safety shoes, transportation support, and parking.
Joining Sodexo as a Barista at Children’s Hospital means being part of a larger mission to enhance the experiences of patients, families, and hospital staff. The job offers the chance to work in an environment committed to equal opportunity and inclusion, where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and supported. Sodexo’s commitment to creating a better life extends both to those it serves and to its employees, making this role ideal for candidates passionate about service, quality, and community impact.
