This opportunity is based at the UNC Kenan Flagler Business School, located at 360 Kenan Center Drive, Chapel Hill, NC, where Compass Group offers its premier hospitality services. The role available is for a full-time Barista position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The position offers an hourly pay rate ranging from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s recognition of skilled baristas and customer service excellence. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous barista experience
- previous customer service experience
- ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

- ability to handle cash and operate POS devices
- willingness to maintain cleanliness and adhere to uniform policies

Job Duties
- prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
- enter orders accurately into POS device
- accept cash and charge payments
- replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
- ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- follow HACCP standards
- maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
- ensure proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
- keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
- greet customers courteously and interact in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
- relay relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
- serve customers quickly and efficiently, and prevent delays in serving lines
- demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to customers
- serve as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process
- ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
- serve food neatly and attractively per standard
- perform other duties as assigned
