The Sodexo Barista position at Parkview Hospital Randallia is a full-time opportunity that pays $17 to $18 per hour. This role involves weekday morning shifts with specific details shared during the interview process. As a Barista, you will be a vital part of the Sodexo hospitality team where your primary focus is delivering exceptional customer service combined with the skillful preparation of hand-crafted, high-quality beverages like coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and more. Beyond simply making drinks, this role demands a personal touch in greeting guests warmly and ensuring their experience at the coffee bar is welcoming and efficient.

In this role, you will be responsible for educating guests on beverage options and employing suggestive selling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales. Your tasks will include managing the coffee bar and cart supplies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and responsibly handling cash transactions according to company procedures. Physical aspects of the job include considerable mobility demands such as standing or walking for extended periods, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds, ensuring that you are actively engaged throughout your shift. You will also collaborate with the team to uphold food safety, sanitation standards, and inventory controls. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Customer service related work experience
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, standards, and inventory control systems
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Certification for Starbucks Baristas may be required for specific accounts

Job Duties

  • Greets all guests and provides quick, friendly, and personalized service
  • Mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc., considering customer specifications
  • Works to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items
  • Educate guests regarding menu offerings and initiate suggestive selling
  • Arranges coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays
  • Cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas
  • Records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register, and follows all cash-handling procedures as required
