Job Description
The Polo Club is a prestigious private club known for its exceptional service and luxurious amenities, catering to an exclusive membership seeking premium recreational and social experiences. Established with a commitment to excellence, the club combines elegance with a welcoming atmosphere, providing members with gourmet dining, professional-grade sports facilities, and exceptional event hosting. The Polo Club prides itself on maintaining high standards in all aspects of its operations, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.
The role of Patisserie Barista at The Polo Club is an essential front-of-house position focused on delivering outstanding customer service while preparing and presenting high-quality beverages, pastries, and café-style food items. This position requires someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail to ensure every product meets the club's exacting standards for quality and presentation. The Patisserie Barista plays a key part in creating a welcoming café atmosphere that aligns with the club's brand image and customer service ethos.
Responsibilities include operating espresso machines and crafting coffee and espresso beverages to the club's specifications, assembling fresh sandwiches, salads, and paninis with consistent quality, and handling point-of-sale operations accurately. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized café space, practicing safe work habits, and communicating effectively with both members and team colleagues. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, be capable of answering guests' questions confidently, and exhibit a professional and positive attitude at all times.
This position offers an opportunity to be part of a respected team within a distinguished establishment, where attention to detail, dedication to service, and a passion for food and beverage play a major role in members' overall experience. The Patisserie Barista will adhere to all club policies and standards, promoting teamwork and upholding the esteemed image of The Polo Club throughout their service. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities but requires a proactive approach to daily operational tasks and member interactions.
Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, alongside at least two years of related experience in front-of-house operations, preferably in a café or hospitality setting. Experience with coffee preparation, especially familiarity with espresso machines, and basic food assembly skills are important. The candidate must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English, capable of following instructions precisely and handling member inquiries professionally. Physical stamina and the ability to lift light to moderate weights while standing for extended periods are also necessary aspects of this job. Safety, cleanliness, grooming, and punctuality are strictly observed to maintain the high standards expected at The Polo Club. This role suits individuals who thrive in team-oriented environments and are committed to providing memorable café service to an upscale clientele.
