Sonesta Nashville Airport is currently seeking a dedicated and friendly barista for the Starbucks outlet located within the hotel premises. This role is pivotal in ensuring each customer receives personalized service accompanied by a welcoming atmosphere. The Barista handles responsibilities that include the preparation and service of beverages and pastries, operating store equipment, managing daily shop operations including opening and closing, and maintaining cleanliness standards. This position also involves cashier duties, such as handling transactions and creating a positive impression with every interaction. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available for this role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a barista or in customer service roles preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and operate register
  • Availability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow health and safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a coffee shop or hospitality environment preferred
  • Ability to operate espresso machines and related equipment
  • Strong customer service skills and friendly demeanor

Job Duties

  • Open and close the shop according to established policies and procedures
  • Operate espresso machine and other shop equipment to prepare drinks and pastries per established procedures and customer requests
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues
  • Reconcile cash register daily using daily sales report
  • Maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness in the shop
  • Maintain appropriate storage standards for food items
  • Communicate with restaurant manager regarding all equipment maintenance concerns and non-equipment related issues or concerns
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
