The Barista role at LaMar's Aurora location plays an integral part in maintaining the brand’s reputation for top-notch customer service and high-quality beverage preparation. This position is non-exempt and offers competitive compensation ranging from $15.25 to $19.75 per hour, plus tips. The Barista will report to both the Shift Manager and General Manager, working primarily in Aurora, Colorado. The role involves a blend of customer interaction, operational responsibilities, and beverage crafting.
As a Barista at LaMar's, key responsibilities encompass welcoming and engaging customers with exceptional hospitality, accurately taking and processing orders, and expertly preparing coffee and espresso beverages according to prescribed recipes. Exceptional product knowledge, including understanding different coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment, is essential to educate and assist customers effectively. The role also involves supporting inventory management by replenishing coffee beans, equipment, supplies, and pastries at the coffee bar.
Operational excellence is critical, with duties involving regular equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and noting required repairs. Beyond beverage preparation and customer service, Baristas also fulfill delivery requests using LaMar’s or partner platforms, ensuring orders are accurately packaged and delivered on time while upholding LaMar’s hospitality standards. The position requires professionalism in communication with both customers and internal teams, compliance with safety regulations, and maintenance of a clean and organized work environment.
Baristas must demonstrate punctuality, a professional appearance, and the ability to perform multi-tasking duties such as loading and unloading merchandise safely, moving product using hand trucks, and maintaining operational workflows efficiently. English proficiency is mandatory for all customer-facing roles, with bilingual skills considered advantageous. This role requires physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with safety guidelines.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service or food and beverage preparation preferred
- English or bilingual proficiency required for all customer-facing and barista duties performed after 3:00 AM
- Valid driver’s license meeting insurance underwriting requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly
- Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds in accordance with OSHA safety lifting and material handling guidelines
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to use technical communication and computer literacy tools
- Demonstrated professionalism and organizational skills

Job Duties
- Welcome customers by identifying their interests and needs

- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through proper sanitation and cleanliness practices
- Accept and fulfill delivery requests through LaMar’s or partner delivery platforms
- Pick up customer orders promptly and verify order accuracy
- Ensure all beverages and pastries are properly packaged and secured
- Deliver products efficiently while upholding LaMar’s hospitality standards
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal store teams
- Follow all traffic and safety regulations at all times and maintain professionalism
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and a polished personal appearance
- Load and unload merchandise, including lifting and arranging product as needed
