The role of the Barista is crucial in supporting daily café operations by preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks and food items with precision and care. The Barista will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the café, including the upkeep of dining areas and equipment. This position requires a blend of efficient service delivery, strong time management skills, and the ability to operate effectively during both routine and busy periods. The Barista plays an essential part in ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations, helping to uphold the café’s commitment to quality and safety. Additionally, the Barista will engage directly with customers, taking orders, addressing inquiries, and contributing to a positive customer experience through attentive and friendly service. The position operates on a schedule of Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, offering a consistent part-time opportunity in a dynamic and welcoming café environment. Job Requirements

HS diploma or equivalent
familiarity with food service operations in a café or retail setting is beneficial
strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours
ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds
basic knowledge is required in both written and spoken English

Job Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items with precision and care
maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including cleaning dining tables and equipment
assist with daily tasks including restocking, inventory, and general café upkeep
ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations during food handling and preparation
provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries
manage time effectively during busy shifts to ensure timely service without compromising quality
assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, pastries, and supplies
report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
