The Starbucks Barista role at Beacon Health System offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this vibrant team, working under the general supervision of the Starbucks Shift Supervisor. The position is part-time, scheduled during daytime hours from 6 am to 2:30 pm, offering an engaging work environment that blends customer service, operational excellence, and health-conscious practices. In this role, you will be expected to prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee and tea, serve packaged and freshly prepared foods, and handle routine food orders efficiently. You will also assist in receiving and putting away deliveries, maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the workspace, and operate the computerized point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for all customer transactions.
This role demands a high level of customer interaction, requiring you to react politely and promptly to requests, queries, and grievances while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor even under pressure. A deep knowledge of the menu options is crucial to successfully recommend items and provide an informed experience for every customer. You will operate essential equipment safely and follow all applicable health and safety rules and regulations, supporting both Starbucks' and Beacon Health System's cultures, values, and goals. Additionally, the role includes organizational responsibilities like completing mandatory education and health requirements, adhering strictly to regulatory agency standards, and ensuring compliance with established operational policies.
Success in this role depends on your ability to learn quickly, work effectively as part of a team, and build meaningful relationships with both coworkers and customers. Physical stamina is required as you will be standing for long periods and performing duties that involve stooping, reaching, lifting equipment and supplies. Exposure to noise, moisture, and heat in the food service area is also part of the work environment.
