This fosters an environment of continuous growth, supportive teamwork, and excellence in service standards across its properties. Sonesta's emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and opportunity makes it a preferred employer within the hospitality industry.

The Barista role at Sonesta International Hotels is a vital front-line position that combines technical skill in beverage preparation with a warm and engaging customer service approach. Baristas are responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, teas, and other specialty drinks. In addition to beverage service, the Barista will take orders for baked goods and sandwiches, provide detailed product information to guests, and suggest items that enhance their experience.

This position also involves inventory responsibilities such as ordering, receiving, and stocking supplies or retail products, along with delivering room service. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including working nights, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs. It demands physical stamina to lift and move items weighing approximately 15 pounds, the ability to perform repetitive motions, and sustain standing for long periods.

The Barista acts as a brand ambassador by presenting a positive image of Sonesta and its affiliated outlets, demonstrating strong upselling and suggestive selling techniques, and maintaining the store's cleanliness and operational excellence. Product knowledge is critical in this role as Baristas need to answer customer inquiries and educate guests about the menu offerings effectively. Continuous training and on-the-job development help refine these skills.

Attention to detail is required in managing the presentation of the store, maintaining fresh and attractively displayed pastries, keeping beverage brewing equipment clean, and following proper procedures for opening, closing, and shift changes. The capacity to communicate clearly and courteously with guests, direct them when needed, and uphold safety and emergency protocols completes the comprehensive scope of the Barista role.

Sonesta values its employees and offers a competitive benefits package recognizing the importance of health, financial security, and work-life balance. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, health savings accounts with company match, 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation and sick days, employee hotel discounts, educational assistance, paid parental leave, life and disability insurance, and various employee perks.
