The Barista role at SkyPark Coffeehouse is a dynamic and customer-focused position requiring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to educate customers about the company’s premium coffee and tea offerings. This position is essential to fulfilling the company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The Barista will serve a variety of coffee drinks, pastries, and cookies with a friendly, individualized approach that enhances the overall Guest experience. Reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager, the Barista is expected to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining the professional image of SkyPark.
The Barista will not only prepare and serve coffee beverages like espresso, cafe latte, cappuccino, and more but will also educate Guests by explaining the differences in coffee beans, grinding methods, and brewing equipment. They will play an active role in promoting coffee consumption by answering questions, presenting the coffee drink menu, and demonstrating brewing equipment. In addition, the Barista will be responsible for maintaining inventory, troubleshooting equipment issues, adhering to health and safety regulations, and continuously seeking to improve quality and service standards.
This role requires flexibility, including weekend and holiday availability, to meet the needs of SkyPark’s clientele. The ideal candidate will engage with Guests warmly, understand their preferences, and respond thoughtfully to requests. Emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to company policies, and demonstrating initiative in improving operations and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in coffee service or food and beverage preferred
- availability to work weekends and holidays
- ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Qualifications
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
- meet store operating policies and standards including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security
- engage with and understand Guests including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant conversation
- prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for Guests including recipe changes
- available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
Job Duties
- Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers
- preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks along with pastries and cookies
- welcomes Guests by determining their coffee interests and needs
- educates Guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
- sells coffees, coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and preparation methods and demonstrating equipment use
- prepares coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and techniques
- generates revenues by attracting new Guests and expanding services and products
- maintains inventories by replenishing supplies and stocking the coffee bar
- troubleshoots and maintains equipment
- maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following sanitation regulations
- improves quality results by studying and redesigning processes
- updates job knowledge through education and trade publications
- enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting responsibilities for new requests
- performs other duties as assigned
