Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in coffee service or food and beverage preferred
- availability to work weekends and holidays
- ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong communication and customer service skills
- ability to follow health and safety guidelines
- willingness to learn and educate customers about coffee
- ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Job Qualifications
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
- meet store operating policies and standards including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security
- engage with and understand Guests including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant conversation
- prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for Guests including recipe changes
- available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
Job Duties
- Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers
- preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks along with pastries and cookies
- welcomes Guests by determining their coffee interests and needs
- educates Guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
- sells coffees, coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and preparation methods and demonstrating equipment use
- prepares coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and techniques
- generates revenues by attracting new Guests and expanding services and products
- maintains inventories by replenishing supplies and stocking the coffee bar
- troubleshoots and maintains equipment
- maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following sanitation regulations
- improves quality results by studying and redesigning processes
- updates job knowledge through education and trade publications
- enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting responsibilities for new requests
- performs other duties as assigned
