This job opening is for a Food and Beverage Service Associate within Azul Hospitality’s hotel outlets. The role is central to the smooth operation of the food and beverage services offered to guests, requiring a friendly, courteous, and efficient professional who excels in a fast-paced environment. The position involves direct interaction with guests, handling food and beverage preparation, and ensuring cleanliness and organization in food preparation and dining areas. Candidates will be expected to present food and drinks following company standards and be knowledgeable about coffee types, preparation methods, and home brewing to educate and upsell to customers. The role demands adherence to safety, sanitation, and operational policies to maintain a healthy and secure workspace. This includes cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment, managing supplies, and operating a cash register or point-of-sale system.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to handle customer inquiries, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and exhibit patience and tact in all guest interactions.   • safe server alcohol and food handlers certification

Job Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education
  • one to three years food service experience preferred
  • one year customer service experience required
  • safe server alcohol and food handlers certification required
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • strong customer relations skills
  • basic computer skills including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS knowledge
  • detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
  • strong knowledge of drink preparation and health standards
  • ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers with patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • self-driven and able to work independently
  • exceptionally strong issue resolution and analytical skills

Job Duties

  • Take customer orders
  • describe menu items and suggest products to customers
  • provide information about products and look for up-sell opportunities
  • prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan, and specialty beverages along with pastries and cookies
  • prepare all drinks and food items following outlet and company standards
  • educate and inform customers about differences among coffee beans, coffee preparation, and home brewing methods
  • ensure equipment is clean and in working order
  • report maintenance or repair needs
  • maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
  • clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • clean tables, floors, and other service areas
  • ensure coffee supplies are always stocked
  • operate cash register or POS system and receive payment
  • follow company operational policies including safety and security
  • maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events
  • responsible for proper handling of all food and equipment
  • perform other duties assigned by managers and supervisors
