The role of a Barista at BigFoot Java is integral to maintaining the high standards and warm customer interactions the brand is known for. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing quality coffee and other beverages while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This role involves educating customers about BigFoot Java's beverage menu, taking orders efficiently, and managing day-to-day operations of the coffee stand. You will work both independently and collaboratively with team members to maintain cleanliness, quality control, and health and safety compliance within the stand. The position requires handling cash transactions, using point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately, and completing financial reporting in adherence to company protocols.

The Barista’s responsibilities go beyond beverage preparation; they act as ambassadors for the brand, greeting customers, solving customer challenges with excellent service, and relaying customer feedback and ideas for new menu items to management. BigFoot Java seeks candidates who demonstrate a passion for coffee, a strong work ethic, and the desire to grow within the company. While prior coffee experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, as training is provided to ensure all team members meet the company's standards of excellence. This position offers an hourly wage of $17.15 plus tips, with potential earning between $17.15 and $30.00 per hour depending on tips and overtime. Benefits include paid time off, 401K eligibility after 90 days, and free coffee beverages while on shift. Occasional meetings at the corporate office in Pacific, WA, are required. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Passionate about coffee with a strong work ethic and desire to grow with the company
  • Ability to stand for 6 or more hours per shift
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Hand dexterity for tasks such as writing, grabbing, pulling, twisting, and shaking
  • Must maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas
  • Pass a 90-day probationary period
  • Attend occasional meetings at corporate office

Job Duties

  • Educating customers on beverage menus and taking orders
