The Candler Hotel, a Curio Collection by Hilton member, is a distinguished boutique hotel situated in downtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street. This historic 17-story high-rise originally constructed in 1906 by Coca-Cola founder Asa Griggs Candler is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Recently, the building underwent a significant transformation led by acclaimed interior designer Nicole Hollis, blending luxury with the preservation of original Beaux-Arts architectural features including a marbleized lobby and Tiffany windows. The hotel offers 265 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, a library, a modern gym equipped by Peloton, and 6,000 square feet of event space. The Barista role at The Candler Hotel plays a vital part in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Baristas are responsible for preparing a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages tailored to guest specifications, as well as processing payments through cash registers and credit card machines. This hourly position requires maintaining professionalism and calm under pressure, especially during busy periods, while setting a positive example for team members. The Barista also supports new team members through training and coaching, communicates effectively with management to uphold a welcoming environment, and adheres strictly to operational and safety protocols. An emphasis is placed on keeping work areas organized and clean to facilitate efficient service. Baristas contribute to the consistent delivery of high-quality beverages and food products by following recipe and presentation standards, and comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service or barista experience preferred
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle cash and operate credit card machines
- Willingness to follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
- Must be available to work some weekends
- Basic math skills for cash handling

Job Duties
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team
- Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues
- Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a warm and welcoming environment during each shift
- Assists with new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
- Delivers outstanding customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer
- Follows Starbucks as well as the property's operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that associates can locate resources and product as needed
