Baristas at Parlor Doughnuts play an important role beyond coffee preparation; they engage with customers by educating them about specialty coffees and addressing any questions to enhance the overall customer experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the operation of espresso machines, skilled in coffee brewing techniques, and capable of maintaining a clean and organized coffee bar area that complies with health and safety regulations. This position also requires front-of-house support, including managing doughnut orders and operating the cash register when needed.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and operation of espresso machines
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to stand for long periods during shifts
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and espresso machine operation
- Familiarity with retail math and cash handling procedures
- Strong math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating orders
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Physical stamina to withstand a full shift potentially on their feet
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Experience using a point-of-sale POS system is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages such as lattes cappuccinos and espressos
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Follow health and safety guidelines when handling food and beverages
- Assist with front of house doughnut orders cash register etc as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and inventory management
- Maintain approved Parlor playlist music ensuring it is on and at appropriate volume
- Provide product recommendations to customers based on their preferences
