This particular position is for a part-time Starbucks Barista located at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role requires working 24 hours a week with shifts scheduled between 5:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., including variable weekends. The Barista will be responsible for producing a wide variety of intricate beverage recipes made from complex combinations of ingredients according to standardized Starbucks recipes. This role operates in a fast-paced, high volume environment within a healthcare setting, providing an excellent customer experience to patients, visitors, and staff. The barista will utilize specialized kitchen equipment, maintain safety and sanitation standards, and ensure product quality meets established standards. Additionally, the barista is expected to multitask effectively, handling cash operations, stocking, and cleaning, while also preparing for health department inspections. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to work part-time 24 hours weekly with variable weekend availability
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Must be able to operate specialized kitchen equipment and adhere to safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to multitask and manage cash handling, stocking, and sanitation duties
  • Must comply with Corewell Health vaccination requirements and drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

  • Produce a wide variety of intricate beverage recipes from standardized formulas
  • Learn and retain beverage ingredients, measurements, and recipes
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Multitask across various roles including recipe production, cash handling, stocking, and sanitation
  • Operate and clean specialized kitchen equipment, troubleshoot issues or escalate to leadership
  • Identify and correct ingredients or finished products that do not meet quality standards
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards
  • Prepare for semi-annual health department and external regulatory inspections
  • Create personalized customer experiences and demonstrate product knowledge
  • Perform effective service recovery when needed
