The role of a Barista at Pret A Manger under Empire JointStar is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the smooth operation and success of each shop. Baristas contribute significantly to creating an inviting and dynamic environment, often referred to as the "Pret Buzz," by delivering exceptional drink quality and engaging customer service. They work closely with the team to maintain cleanliness, ensure equipment upkeep, and uphold Pret's strict standards for drink preparation and presentation. Baristas are responsible for training new staff members, executing daily operations efficiently, and contributing to the shop's sales growth through effective promotion and waste control.

Compensation for this role is set at $18.50 per hour, with additional earnings potential through a Mystery Shopper Bonus and tips. There is also a $100 referral bonus offered to encourage team growth. The Barista's responsibilities extend beyond drink making to include coaching and training teammates on barista-prepared drinks, participating in team meetings and briefs, and maintaining an immaculate appearance by following Pret's dress code.

Baristas are expected to engage customers by sharing Pret’s Coffee Story and Menu, serving drinks within a 60-second timeframe while communicating any delays, and impressing customers with latte art. Maintaining equipment and performing daily checks ensure the shop environment remains well organized and appealing. Baristas also manage ingredient waste levels and stock variances with oversight from their manager to optimize shop profitability.

The role requires a minimum of one year of barista experience to ensure competency in delivering the high standards Pret demands.
