The role of Food Runner at Jimbo's is vital in maintaining the flow of the dining experience by ensuring that food is prepared, cooked, and presented in a timely and appealing manner. This position requires adherence to strict food safety and handling standards as well as the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment. The Food Runner is responsible for preparing the salad bar and hot case, cooking and heating foods under controlled temperature guidelines, and maintaining an organized and clean service area that complies with Health Department regulations. Additionally, the role involves providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers and fostering communication and cooperation among kitchen and deli staff. Employees in this position are expected to maintain a clean personal appearance, follow company policies, and safely operate kitchen machinery and knives. There is also an expectation to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate within the first ten days of employment. - ability to work unassisted throughout any assigned shift
- good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Deliver high-quality food in a safe and sanitary environment to customers, ensuring all products adhere to store standards and guidelines
- prepare food for the salad bar and hot case, ensuring organized and efficient cooking and heating
- cook and heat prepared foods for service under time and temperature guidelines
- stock and present the hot case and salad bar in an appealing way throughout the day
- set up the salad bar, soup station, and hot bar/case within specified time standards
- maintain a well-stocked service area, handling tasks such as changing pans, labeling, restocking, and cleaning
- uphold quality food handling standards, including proper preparation, rotation, and storage in compliance with health regulations
- provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers on the floor
- keep the work area clean, sanitary, and well-stocked, complying with Health Department regulations
- foster open communication and cooperation with deli/kitchen staff and assist customers within customer service standards
- keep areas well stocked with packaging options
- safely use knives and other equipment according to guidelines
- adhere to deli department and store policies outlined in the Staff Member Handbook and Injury and Illness Prevention Plan
- maintain a clean and neat appearance in compliance with Dress Code policy
- safely operate around kitchen machinery and sharp knives
- understand and follow Health Department regulations
- obtain a Food Handler's Certificate within 10 days of employment
- ability to use kitchen equipment as per specifications
