Job Description
Braxton Brewing Co. is a renowned brewery committed to crafting high-quality beers and providing exceptional experiences at our taprooms. Located in Kentucky, Braxton Brewing Co. has built a strong community presence through its dedication to craft beer culture and excellent customer service. Our Union Taproom is a vibrant and welcoming space where beer lovers gather to enjoy fresh brews and a lively atmosphere. As part of the Braxton Brewing family, the Union Taproom prides itself on fostering a dynamic team environment and a commitment to quality and hospitality. We believe in supporting our staff by creating a positive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to grow and contribute to our ongoing success.
We are currently seeking a Barback to join our team at the Union Taproom. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of one of our busiest locations. The barback position is fast-paced and requires a motivated individual who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding service to every guest. The Barback acts as the backbone of the bar, maintaining the flow of beer, replenishing glassware, and ensuring that bartenders are fully equipped to provide excellent service during peak times. This is an hourly position paying $10 plus tips, offering a valuable opportunity for those interested in gaining hands-on experience in the brewery and hospitality industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support bar operations, including changing kegs, stocking coolers, and keeping draft lines clean. You will help bartenders during rushes by restocking supplies, running ice, clearing glassware, and anticipating their needs without being asked. Additionally, the role involves bussing and resetting tables, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the taproom, handling trash and recycling, and assisting with opening and closing duties such as deep cleaning bar mats and drains. You will also participate in events, releases, and private parties held at the taproom, contributing to a seamless experience for guests. By following all state and local alcohol service laws and Braxton Brewing's safety and sanitation standards, you will play a crucial role in upholding the reputation and operational excellence of our taproom.
The ideal candidate for this position is at least 18 years old, physically capable of lifting and moving heavy kegs (up to 165 pounds) multiple times during a shift, and comfortable standing and moving quickly for extended periods. Availability during nights, weekends, and holidays is essential due to increased customer activity during these times. While previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or brewery setting is advantageous, it is not a requirement as training will be provided to ensure you succeed in your new role. A genuine interest in craft beer and an appreciation for Braxton Brewing's story will help you connect with our brand and our guests, enriching the overall experience for everyone involved. If you are eager to join a fast-moving team and contribute to the success of a well-respected brewery, this barback role at Braxton Brewing Co.'s Union Taproom is a great fit for you.
