Sports & Social Bethesda is a vibrant and unique sports bar and social lounge located in the Pike & Rose Development. This establishment spans 7,700 square feet and offers an energetic atmosphere designed for sports fans and social enthusiasts alike. It features numerous TV screens, including a stunning 18-foot LED display capable of showcasing multiple games and sporting events simultaneously to ensure guests never miss a moment. In addition, members and guests can enjoy a spacious 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio, enhancing the overall experience and providing a comfortable space for socializing in an open-air environment. \n\nThe venue aims to deliver an elevated dining and beverage experience by offering a menu filled with made-from-scratch items paired with expertly crafted curated cocktails. The lively atmosphere is enhanced with live music performances and special events hosted several days a week. Sports & Social Bethesda also highlights a wide array of interactive social games available to guests, making it more than just a sports bar but a destination for entertainment and gathering.\n\nThe role of a barback at Sports & Social Bethesda is an essential component of the bar operation team, focusing on maintaining a smooth and efficient service environment. This is a tipped position with an hourly rate of $4.00 plus tips, emphasizing a dynamic and fun working atmosphere where professionalism, energy, and customer engagement are crucial. Barbacks play a pivotal role in supporting bartenders by performing prep work such as refilling ice bins, restocking beer and liquor, cutting garnishes, and changing kegs in the keg room – which requires physical strength and safety awareness. Additional responsibilities include ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, timely clearing of the bar, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and providing polite and professional customer service at all times. Efficient communication skills are vital as the position requires interacting with guests, coworkers, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors clearly and with a positive approach. The work schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the nature of the hospitality and sports entertainment industry. \n\nCandidates interested in joining Sports & Social Bethesda must have prior food service experience and general knowledge of bar or nightclub operations, along with the ability to meet state legal requirements including alcohol awareness certification or food service permits as applicable. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- food service experience with general knowledge of bar/nightclub operations
- must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
- must be at least age 18 or older, depending on state regulations
- communication skills utilized frequently when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors
- alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
- reading and writing abilities utilized often when taking orders and completing paperwork
- mathematical skills including basic math used frequently
- may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Job Duties
- show that you are an energetic, outgoing, fun person while maintaining professionalism

- change empty kegs in keg room, including moving full kegs of beer
- assist in maintaining a clean and tidy environment by cleaning up spills and emptying trash cans

- communicate effectively, clearly, patiently and humorously with co-workers and guests
