Job Description

Aparium Hospitality Services is a unique hotel management company that emphasizes the importance of People, Place, and Character in its operations and team culture. With a strong presence in Seattle, Aparium is dedicated to creating extraordinary lodging experiences that celebrate the neighborhoods and communities in which they operate. The company is well-known for its innovative approach to hospitality, embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion to foster a genuine sense of belonging among its associates and guests alike. Aparium operates several notable venues including Firn at Populus, a rooftop bar featuring a creative cocktail menu inspired by the natural phases of water and a focus on ingredient-driven drinks with a scenic view of Pioneer Square. Alongside this, Salt Harvest offers a hearth-inspired menu using locally sourced seafood, produce, and meats to create a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Aparium’s commitment to quality, community, and environmental sustainability is reflected in every detail from their menu design to employee engagement initiatives.

The Barback position at Aparium is a seasonal, non-exempt role reporting directly to the Food + Beverage (F+B) Manager and working closely within a dynamic F+B team. This role is essential in supporting bar operations by managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the bar service team can operate smoothly and efficiently. The position offers an hourly pay rate of $21.30 plus tips and includes benefits such as Seattle Paid Sick and Safe Time and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in upholding the company’s values by demonstrating excellent time management, service techniques, and product knowledge tailored to a premium guest experience. In addition, the Barback will be responsible for routine stocking, ice management, keg handling, garnish preparation, and maintaining a clean bar environment.

This role requires more than just physical endurance and organizational skills; it demands a passion for hospitality, an understanding of the beverage industry including beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails, and the ability to collaborate with others in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting. The Barback will actively participate in daily team meetings to align with the service objectives and is expected to help maintain operational safety and legal compliance, especially concerning alcohol service. The environment prides itself on fostering a culture that respects people and places, so the Barback is expected to contribute positively to the overall guest experience by sharing relevant beverage knowledge and supporting the broader goals of the Food + Beverage Department as needed.

Joining Aparium means becoming part of an inclusive and diverse work environment where staff are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work and pride themselves on the community they serve. The barback role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and beverage service who want to grow their expertise in a respected and vibrant setting while benefiting from a competitive wage and comprehensive benefits package.
