This role is for a dedicated and proactive individual responsible for supporting bar operations within the Concerts Division. The position demands attentiveness to current menu items and descriptions, adherence to Special Events guidelines to ensure event success, and the handling of various side duties such as stocking ice bins, liquor, beer, wine, and coolers. Physical tasks include lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds. The role also involves cleaning and maintaining bar equipment, performing opening, running, and closing side duties in alignment with Vinyl Room policy, and proper waste management including sorting recyclables and operating a trash compactor per policy. Ensuring responsible alcohol service according to local ordinances and venue policies is critical. Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and safety standards at the House of Blues (HOB), keeping bar stock levels to venue specifications, logging maintenance issues, and attending pre-shift meetings conducted by the Manager on Duty. The work environment is fast-paced, often loud, physically demanding, and requires working extended periods on one’s feet both indoors and outdoors. Job Qualifications
- Responsible Alcohol Training Certification or equivalent
- skills in interpersonal communication and teamwork
- tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
- three years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment preferred
- experience recognizing valid IDs preferred
- experience in a live music environment preferred
Job Duties
- Stay informed of current menu items and descriptions
- follow Special Events guidelines to ensure event success
- handle side duties including stocking ice bins, liquor, beer, wine, and coolers, including lifting/moving up to 50lbs
- clean and assist maintaining bar equipment
- perform opening/running/closing side duties according to Vinyl Room policy
- put all trash and recyclable products in proper receptacles
- separate glass, cardboard, and plastics per local codes
- operate trash compactor per procedures policy
- ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and HOB and Vinyl Room alcohol policies
- ensure that trash containers are clean, free of odor and lined
- maintain HOB safety and sanitation standards
- par all ice bins to the fullest levels at all times
- par all bars per venue specifications
- record maintenance problems/issues in bar log or work orders
- attend pre-shift meeting conducted by Manager on Duty prior to start of each shift
