The role of Barback at PENN Entertainment is integral to the smooth operation of its beverage services within the casino environment. This position involves delivering fast, friendly, and professional support to both casino guests and beverage staff, including servers and bartenders. The Barback acts as an ambassador of goodwill, promoting casino events and maintaining excellent customer relations. In this high-energy, fast-paced role, the Barback ensures timely replenishment of supplies and upkeep of the bar areas to provide an exceptional guest experience. The position requires physical mobility and stamina, as the Barback will be responsible for tasks such as replacing kegs, slicing fruit, filling ice bins, and maintaining cleanliness in compliance with health and safety standards. Job Requirements

Must be 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Available to work required schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime
Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
Able to work in constricting areas
Able to tolerate noise and bright lights
Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded and noisy environment
Physically mobile with ability to push, pull, carry and lift over 100 lbs, and perform varied physical activities such as reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, stacking, crouching, kneeling and balancing

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Providing fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers and bartenders
Monitoring guest consumption of alcohol and intervening as needed according to guidelines
Serving as ambassador of goodwill during work and at customer and public relations functions
Promoting casino events and programs
Providing personalized service and using guest names
Resolving service problems according to guidelines
Working effectively with beverage servers, bartenders, other barbacks, beverage supervisors, and casino supervisors
Maintaining par levels of operating supplies and equipment for bars and obtaining replacement stock from warehouse inventory
Placing liquors, fruits, glassware, linen, silverware, paper supplies, and sundries in designated places following storage guidelines and safety procedures
Replacing empty draught beer kegs
Slicing and pitting fruit, filling ice bins with crushed or cubed ice
Operating and maintaining equipment and utensils in accordance with guidelines and safety procedures
Removing and properly disposing of all debris at the bar
Cleaning counter areas, sinks, and floors to maintain a safe work station
Maintaining cleanliness of designated areas according to health and safety standards
