The Barback role at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is an essential position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and stock of the bar behind the scenes to ensure a seamless, best-in-class guest experience. This hourly position supports the bar staff by organizing the work environment, checking inventory, stocking bar essentials, and ensuring the bar’s smooth operational flow during shifts. As a Barback, you will be involved in multiple tasks necessary for efficient bar operation, including verifying and stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to health and safety standards, and assisting with the operation and upkeep of bar equipment. This role requires familiarity with all products served at the bar, an attentive approach to guest interactions, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with alcohol beverage policies. Job Duties
- Request, pick, verify and put away all requisitions for liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks and food items used for the bar areas
- stock the bar areas with liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, glassware and condiments
- develop a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar
- ensure that all side opening and closing duties are completed
- adopt a positive approach in dealing with guests problems and issues to ensure guest satisfaction
- adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to ensure compliance with regulations
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- attend to customer needs with a friendly and professional attitude
- operate and maintain bar equipment and tools
- perform other duties as assigned by leadership
