The role of Barback will center around the opening of the new Highmark Stadium in 2026, set to become the home for the Buffalo Bills and representing the largest construction initiative in Western New York's history. As a Barback, you will be a crucial part of the bar team, assisting bartenders to ensure smooth bar operations. Your primary responsibilities will involve maintaining inventory and stock levels, replenishing supplies, preparing beverage areas, and keeping the work environment clean and organized. This role demands a proactive individual who can manage the fast-paced bar atmosphere effectively while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The Barback will also perform tasks such as washing glasses and other serving equipment, stocking refrigerators, replacing beer kegs, cleaning and polishing bar surfaces, conducting trash removal, and ensuring personal hygiene practices conform to health and safety standards.

The position requires constant movement, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions, reflecting the physically demanding nature of the role. Barbacks must work under varying weather conditions and be able to lift or maneuver items up to 160 pounds. Exposure to loud environments with fireworks, music, and flashing lights is expected within the stadium setting.

  • Ability to attain the required alcohol safety certifications prior to working events
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes

Job Duties

  • Complete tasks related to stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, and beverage preparation under bartender guidance
  • Maintain and stock supplies such as glasses, cups, napkins, ice, drink supplies, and condiments
  • Wash glasses and other serving equipment
  • Stock refrigerating units with wines and beer, replace beer kegs
  • Clean and polish bar, counters, shelves, equipment, and stools
  • Perform trash pickup and disposal in bar areas
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management
